lemon and olive oil benefits
Drinking olive oil and lemon juice has been used as a natural remedy for various health issues for centuries.
Both olive oil and lemon have their own unique health-boosting benefits, but when combined together, they create a powerful duo that can benefit your overall health and well-being.
Let's break down each food separately and see what they bring to the table:
olive oil benefits
Olive oil is a staple of the Mediterranean diet. It was deemed the "golden nectar of the gods" by the ancient Greeks as it was believed to have various positive health outcomes.
This sacred fruit has all the good stuff, like a rich source of healthy fats, powerful antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a heart-healthy option for cooking and consuming.
lemon juice benefits
There are many health benefits of fresh lemon juice. This citrus fruit was widely used by the ancient Egyptians as a natural antiseptic and purifier.
It's packed with antioxidant properties like vitamin C, which is essential for boosting your immune system, fighting off infections and protecting cells from damaging effects of free radicals.
Many dishes include lemon as a garnish or ingredient, adding both a refreshing and nutritional element to any dish.
All in all, both ingredients are nutrient-rich foods that can help boost your overall health. When combined, they are a dynamic duo that'll have you feeling good inside and out!

I know... drinking lemon juice and olive oil might sound off-putting at first. But when blended with fresh ginger, honey and water, this quick and easy elixir is delicious way to get a good dose of healthy fats, vitamins, and antioxidants so you can go about your day feeling energized and nourished.
Olive oil and humble lemon are the star ingredients, but the ginger, cinnamon, and honey each add their own unique benefits too.
Ginger is anti-inflammatory, cinnamon is high in antioxidants, and honey has antibacterial properties — all making this drink a powerful immune-boosting concoction.
Not to mention how it makes this beverage taste absolutely divine! It's tangy and sweet with a subtle bite from the ginger.
This juice makes several servings and is easy to make ahead of time. If you like immunity-boosting wellness shots to start your day, you can prepare this on a Sunday and enjoy a small glass of it every morning during the week.

This drink is:
- A quick and easy way to get a dose of healthy fats, vitamins, and antioxidants.
- Great for making ahead of time for busy weekday mornings.
- Delicious and healthy with potential benefits to your immune and digestive system.
- Low-carb and keto-friendly with options to use honey or low-carb sweeteners.
the ingredients
- Organic lemon. You'll need an entire lemon. I use organic lemons as they are less likely to have any harmful pesticides.
- Fresh ginger. Fresh ginger adds a zesty kick to this drink, but you can also use powdered ginger if that's all you have on hand.
- Filtered water. Use filtered water to get the purest taste and avoid any contaminants.
- Extra-virgin olive oil. It is essential to use high-quality extra virgin olive oil for the best taste and health benefits. All you need is a couple of tablespoons of olive oil which helps give it a creamy consistency.
- Honey. Use raw honey or other natural sweeteners like pure monk fruit drops, stevia drops, or liquid allulose for a low-carb option.
- Cinnamon. This spice adds a warm, cozy flavor to the drink.

That's it! Place the lid on the mason jar to store for later, or pour a serving for yourself right away and sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon.
tips for the best results
- Make sure to use organic lemon and ginger, if possible, since the rind and ginger skin are also being blended into the drink. If you can’t find organic lemons, thoroughly wash the lemon. You can also peel the skin off the ginger if preferred.
- Honey is used in this drink for its own health benefits. If you don’t consume honey, you can substitute a low-carb sweetener like pure monk fruit drops, stevia drops, or liquid allulose and sweeten to taste!
- This drink is best if the pulp is strained out of it, however I've consumed it immediately with some of the pulp in it too.
how to store
This makes approximately 5-6 servings (about ½ cup to ¾ cup). You can store the drink in a mason jar or bottle with a lid for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. Give it a good shake before pouring yourself a glass, as the ingredients may separate over time.
