This easy truffle aioli is the perfect condiment for roasted veggies, burgers, steaks, and more! While mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and parsley are quite common ingredients in traditional aioli, black truffle oil is what really gives this creamy aioli its distinctive flavor.
what is truffle aioli?
Aiolis have become a staple in many restaurants, ranging from casual bars to Michelin-starred establishments. And guess what? They're so easy to make!
Authentic aioli is an emulsion of olive oil and garlic, but the term "aioli" is more commonly known today as a flavored mayonnaise. And in this case, the flavors we're adding are garlic, lemon juice and black truffle oil.
So why not bring that next level flavor to your own kitchen?
All you have to do is gather your ingredients in a bowl and combine. It really can't get any easier than that!
Once you've had a taste of this garlic truffle aioli, be warned — you're going to want to aioli everything.
why this recipe works
Truffles have been a culinary delicacy since ancient times. Their unique and earthy flavor is great for elevating dishes and adding a touch of luxury.
Since truffles are quite rare and hard to cultivate, they can be quite expensive. (If you do get your hands on fresh truffles, I recommend this Black Truffle Butter recipe along with some truffle infusion ideas from my friends at Savor the Best.)
However, this garlic truffle aioli recipe uses black truffle oil, which is way more affordable and accessible than fresh black truffles or the even rarer white truffles.
You can usually find black truffle oil at the grocery store (Trader Joe's has a good one). And fortunately, with truffle becoming increasingly popular, you can reap all the delicious benefits of this precious fungi without breaking the bank!
Making your own aioli is a great way to take any of your favorite dishes to the next level.
This black truffle aioli tastes amazing on practically anything and is ridiculously simple to whip up.
Plus, my recipe is keto-friendly and features heart-healthy avocado oil. It really is a win-win.

- Avocado oil mayonnaise. Avocado oil mayo is a wonderful heart-healthy alternative to regular mayo with a neutral flavor. You can always use homemade mayo if you'd like (make it with olive oil or avocado oil for a healthier version).
- Black truffle oil. The star of this recipe! It brings that iconic truffle flavor that takes this aioli to the next level. Feel free to use white truffle oil if that's what you have.
- Garlic. A staple ingredient for aioli sauces. Don't skip the fresh garlic!
- Fresh lemon juice. Adds a touch of brightness and acidity to balance out the savory/umami notes in the aioli.
- Salt and black pepper. A little salt and pepper makes any dish better!
- Fresh parsley (optional). The perfect finishing touch to this aioli. Feel free to omit it if you'd like.
Lemon juice substitute: A splash of apple cider vinegar is a great alternative to lemon juice. It has just the right amount of acidity this aioli needs.
Truffle oil substitute: You can use any kind of truffle-infused olive oil for this recipe. For an affordable, delicious black truffle oil, try the white truffle and black truffle oil set sold at Trader Joe’s.
A good substitute for black truffle oil is black truffle salt or seasoning. Simply add it to taste (the flavor intensity varies by brand) and omit the salt in the recipe entirely.
